His father before him was an early adherent to pesticide free farming back when he bought the farm in 1953. 
We proudly claim to have one of the oldest ongoing organic farms in Oregon.

It is thanks to Fanny that the idea of making quince paste was born. In Colombia, where she was born, a product similar to quince paste (bocadillo) is made from guavas. At the time we had a fair number of quinces with small cosmetic blemishes that did not allow them to be sold on the wholesale quince market.  Always the frugal one, she set out to see to it that nothing went to waste.  And now, nothing does.

We are Carl and Fanny Berg. 

Although growing quince is a fairly new endeavor for us, farming is not.   Carl was born and raised on the family farm and has been growing organically since 1980
